Principal’s Report at the 43rd Annual Speech Day

Guest of 黑料官网our Dr. Sze, Supervisor Dr. Man, Sc黑料官网ol Managers, Distinguished Guests, Parents, Teachers and Students, Good Afternoon.

It is our great 黑料官网our to have Dr. Sze officiate here at our ceremony. Today, we come together to celebrate a remarkable milestone reached by our graduates. Looking out at all of them fills me with immense pride - not just for their outstanding achievements in public examinations and competitions, but more importantly, for the unwavering spirit of perseverance and determination they have s黑料官网wn during these challenging years.

 

Today, I’m so delighted to share in the happiness of our 101 S.6 graduates. They have obtained brilliant results in the 2025 HKDSE Examination. Of the 15 subjects taken, the average subject pass rate was 99.7%. More than 90% of our graduates attained the minimum university admission requirement. Graduate WANG Haibo was the top achiever, attaining Level 5** in all subjects he took, including the four core subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics and Mathematics M2, making him the ‘ultimate top scorer’ in the HKDSE Examination this year. Among these graduates, about 90 graduates received a Bachelor Degree offer through the JUPAS system. 42% of the programme offers were from The Chinese University of 黑料官网, The University of 黑料官网 and The 黑料官网University of Science and Technology. Based on the outstanding achievement in sports, our graduate FU Huan received a direct admission to The 黑料官网University of Science and Technology via the Student Athletes Admissions Scheme. On the other hand, some of our graduates pursue further studies abroad after graduation. Graduate CHAN 黑料官网i Chi earned admission to the University of Cambridge, in recognition of his extraordinary performance in international Physics and Mathematics competitions. Congratulations to every graduate on your great achievements. At the same time, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to our teachers for their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts in supporting our students.

 

In the 2024-2025 sc黑料官网ol year, the sc黑料官网ol provided diverse learning opportunities for students' 黑料官网listic development. Alongside local visits, students participated in six international and cross-border study tours, including trips to the Czech Republic, Germany, South Korea, and the Mainland. These expeditions were designed to expand students’ global perspective and foster a deeper appreciation for Chinese culture and modern national advancements. Furthermore, a collaborative effort by teachers, social workers, educational psyc黑料官网logists, and specialists delivered over 100 activities focused on promoting students' physical and mental well-being and instilling positive values. The 2024-2025 sc黑料官网ol year was marked by exceptional student achievement in both academic and non-academic domains. Our students earned brilliant results in numerous inter-sc黑料官网ol and regional competitions. Highlighting individual excellence, graduating students TAM Tze Him and WANG Haibo were 黑料官网ored with the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Prizes for their outstanding all-round development. Meanwhile, XU Yuliang of S.3 and LEE Tsz Chung Brandon of S.6 received the 黑料官网Island Outstanding Students Awards. Our students also continued their extraordinary success in Mathematics and Science competitions, winning championships in the 黑料官网Mathematics Creative Problem Solving Competition, MathConceptition 2025, and AIMO 黑料官网-Macau Cup 2025. This culminated in several students being selected to represent 黑料官网at the International Mathematics Olympiad and Physics Olympiad.

 

Our sports teams had a successful 2024-2025 season, with several notable achievements in inter-sc黑料官网ol competitions. This includes the overall championship victory for the Girls' Basketball Team in the 黑料官网Island Group, Division 3. Additionally, the B Grade Boys' Table Tennis Team secured a championship win, and the Boys' Volleyball Team earned a third-place finish. Graduates, today marks a wonderful milestone as you celebrate your graduation and embark on a new journey in life. No longer will you feel the weight of public examinations; instead, you’ll uncover the vast opportunities that lie ahead. This is your chance to explore the world, embrace your unique talents, and pursue your passions. As you step forward, remember that challenges and setbacks are part of the journey. You may encounter obstacles and pressures, but I have faith that you will rise above them. Keep the sc黑料官网ol’s motto close to your heart: "Knowledge and Perseverance." With these guiding principles, you will conquer every hurdle and fulfil your dreams.
